Reading the report

What the score counts, what it deliberately does not, and how to use the four figures on the dashboard.

The dashboard is the report. It reads as figures on a page rather than numbers in boxes, and every figure opens.

The score

One number out of 100, the average of the most recent score for each scanned page.

What it counts: findings that automated checks settled, weighted by severity.

What it does not count: everything automation cannot settle. That is a substantial part of WCAG, and the caveat sits beside the score on the screen rather than in a footnote.

It does not tell you whether your site meets any legal requirement.

The four figures

Barriers found. Settled by an automated check. These are wrong.

Needs a person to look. Automation could not settle these. They may be entirely fine. Reporting them as problems would be dishonest; hiding them would be worse.

Fixed. What you have put right.

Checks available. 41, of which 36 run on the server and 5 need the page view. The figure also tells you how many of your scanned pages have had the browser pass, because a page that has only had the server pass has only had 36 of the 41 checks run against it.

The charts

Open findings by severity. Critical, Serious, Moderate, Minor.

What comes up most. Which checks are firing, ordered by count. This is where you find the one theme fault that is costing you four hundred findings.

Pages with the most to do. Where the work is concentrated.

Score by scan. The last 30 scans in the order they ran. A sequence, not a timeline — the plugin never re-scans on its own, so the spacing reflects when somebody pressed the button.

Every bar opens the findings behind it, with an explanation of the check at the top rather than repeated against every row.

Why your totals might drop after an update

If open counts fall sharply after upgrading, nothing has been hidden.

Earlier versions counted every scan of a page separately, so a page scanned ten times contributed ten copies of each of its findings. Only the most recent scan of each page is counted now, which is what the score on the same screen was already doing. The earlier numbers were counting the same findings several times over.

Dismissals are preserved across that change, and across every future scan.
